We work with landowners across Virginia to help them benefit from solar in a variety of ways. From diversifying their agricultural business with complementary solar land use to sustaining the family farm with predictable long-term solar lease revenues. We partner with you to understand your goals, to explain the solar options that best suit your interests, and to manage the process for you and cover all the costs to install solar for your farm through a solar farm lease.
Communities
We collaborate with communities through stakeholder engagement and local government permitting to responsibly site and develop solar farms that help achieve your community's goals. Solar can benefit a local community in a variety of ways. For example, solar helps keeps family farms operating and increases tax revenue for local infrastructure and services as well as create jobs and spur economic activity.

Our Team
The CEP Solar team is comprised of professionals with deep market knowledge and industry experience with a common commitment to our mission.
Our Founders
Richard Wright
Richard brings over a decade of experience in the solar energy industry developing, financing, constructing and operating projects. He has developed more than 60 solar projects ranging from 2 MW to 50 MW including projects in Virginia and Dominion’s service territory. Most recently served as COO of Heelstone Energy, which successfully closed on a corporate investment with Ares Management Corporation in 2019.
Tyson Utt
Tyson also brings over a decade of experience in renewables. Most recently, he served as Apex Clean Energy’s VP of Development, East; where he was responsible for the origination and development of wind and solar assets across eleven states. He served eight years on the board of the Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Coalition (MAREC) and subsequently four years as Chairman of the Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance (VA-REA).
